What are "Watercolor Accessories"?

Acrylic is light and has beautiful color.
A material that can be enjoyed casually in everyday life.

Among them, I use completely original parts that I have created using acrylic that I have layered with watercolors using a brush, and cut one by one by machine based on my own unique designs.

In recent years, he has also added unique acrylic materials imported from the United States, creating works by combining pieces of different colors and textures like a puzzle.

m started its activities in 2014. Since then, it has been a process of repeated trial and error using watercolors and acrylics, leading to the creation of the current watercolor accessories.

About the Designer

Momo

Graduated from Tama Art University Faculty of Fine Arts. Launched "m" while still in school. After working for a jewelry company, was in charge of interior and product design. Worked on displays for Shinjuku Isetan, Omotesando Hills, etc.

Regarding Acrylic

I mainly use transparent acrylic material to make accessories.
Although it is lightweight and comfortable to wear, acrylic has a transparency and light transmittance of 94%, which exceeds that of glass.
This material has extremely low transparency and strength degradation and is durable for approximately 10 to 20 years.
(Depending on thickness. The thicker it is, the stronger it is.)

  • Recycling

    Acrylic scraps are generated with each production process.
    All of them were once "chosen colors."
    We have been searching for a way to prevent these tiny pieces from ending up as mere waste.

    In the past, I have crushed them and combined them with resin to create trays and clocks.
    However, it requires a large amount of resin and takes time to harden, making it unsuitable for mass production and making it difficult to continue.

    This time, we have begun a new collaboration with a company that specializes in material manufacturing, processing scraps with special machinery and turning them into products.
    New possibilities are emerging for the material in ways I would never have been able to reach on my own.

    I'm still imagining what kind of board it will be.
    However, if this project takes shape, it will be one step closer to creating products that do not waste color.
    We hope that this small cycle, which has been a long-standing challenge for the brand, will lead to new expressions.
